

NORMA (BOE) EWING
December 4, 1924 – December 11, 2024
Norma Ewing (nee Boe) passed away peacefully at Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre, on December 11, 2024, 7 days following her 100th birthday.
Norma was born in Mannville, Alberta to Ralph and Maude Boe. She married Ross Ewing on December 10, 1945 and is survived by her daughters Miriam Lencucha (Mike), Beverley Wetter (Doug), Corinne Kowalski (Frank) and Michelle Ewing (Reg Chisholm); granddaughters Collette Wetter (Joel Ebbers), Vanessa Wetter, Erin Kowalski (Max Neufeld); and, twin great-granddaughters Abigail and Andie Ebbers. She is also survived by brother Stanley Boe, sisters-in-law Rosemarie Boe and Connie Ewing, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Norma was predeceased by Ross, her husband of 66 years, in 2011, as well as parents Ralph and Maude Boe, sister Laverne Gordon, brothers Lloyd (Cynthia), Orville and John (Donna).
Ross and Norma lived in Mannville until 1964, Whitecourt until 1967, Olds until 1989, and finally, Edmonton.
Norma was a member of the multi-year fastball Provincial Champion Mannville Bluebirds and curled for many years in Mannville, Whitecourt and Olds. Her weekly fresh baked buns were a highlight for many.
As per Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be buried alongside Ross in Mannville at a later date.
The family would like to thank Norma’s caregivers at Rutherford Heights and Allen Gray for their warmth and kindness in taking such good care of Mom and making her final years as comfortable as possible.
