

Olga Schubert passed away in the arms of Jesus on Sunday May 31st, 2026 as the age of 102.
Born on December 20, 1923 in Kostopol, Poland to August and Pauline Emke. Olga was the oldest of three children. Olga was baptized in the Lutheran Church. At the age of 24 she fled along with her parents and siblings to Canada. Before immigrating to Canada she was an aspiring seamstress. She was a nanny the first four years after arriving to Canada. She was married to Samuel Schubert on June 20, 1952. They were blessed with two children Cyril and Barbara.
Olga was a homemaker who always had goodies in the freezer for family and visitors. She was an accomplished seamstress and needleworker. Her gardening skills were next to none maintaining a large and at times two large vegetable gardens as well as a manicured lawn and garden. She was a legend in her neighbourhood as she would climb the ladder to clean out her gutters at 85 years of age. Olga lived at Canterbury Manor for the last 12 years. She continued to knit gloves and toques for the homeless and you could always find her walking the hallways for exercise.
Olga will be remembered by her son Cyril, daughter Barbara, her sister Martha, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, August and Pauline Emke and her brother August Emke Jr.
