Olga Sirman

Olga Sirman of Rainy River, Ontario passed away on May 4th, 2026 at the AgeCare Home in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 96.

Olga was born December 1st, 1929 to the Glowacz family of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was one of seven children.

Olga is predeceased by her husband John. Together, they made their home in Rainy River, Ontario. Here they raised their nine children: Nicholas (deceased), Nancy (deceased), Ivan, Dennis, Micheal, Christina (deceased), Arlene, Darlene, and John.

Olga worked at the Rainy River Hospital as a cook. She was also a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Olga was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and proved it continuously with her volunteer work. She coordinated the multi-cultural festivals in Rainy River where she was able to showcase her Ukrainian dishes, especially her homemade perogies to many happy customers.

Olga had a big, beautiful heart full of love and understanding. She kept the family together through many life experiences. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
