OBITUARY

Patricia Anne Mastre

Passed away on 24 July, 2020

It is with profound sadness the family of Pat Mastre, age 89, announces her passing after a short bout of COVID-19 and a longer struggle with Alzheimer’s. Mom was outgoing, thoughtful, and compassionate to all, earning many lifelong friends. She gave her love unconditionally being neither judgmental nor able to hold a grudge. She did a superb job balancing a home with five kids, dad’s shift work and working part time. Mom was always ready for a family gathering, celebration or a trip (it didn’t matter where).

Survived by her husband of 68 years, Bud/Reuben, children Robin (Sharee), Warren George (Marlene), Darcy (Don), Howard (Colleen), Lorraine (Keith), and grandchildren.

The family thanks the staff of Good Samaritan Southgate for all the gracious care mom received. Mom’s moment is gone but our memories live on.

i remember going to dr. dresens office when we were little (and neighbours) and pat would cover our eyes (so the bright light wouldn't shine in them) while the dentist was giving us the needle. even though it was a dental visit, remembering her brings a smile to my face!
also remember her playing cards in meadowlark when you guys lived there.
our condolences to bud and the whole family. from sharon, gail, and grace.

Mrs. Mastre was an integral part of my growing up across the street from the Mastre’s. While Howard was my best friend, I was super close to all the family, including Mom Mastre. She was always there with a meal and a smile and always forgiving whenever I got Howard in trouble. She was quite simply my second mom and I loved her very much. She will I’m sure be missed by many. Though I haven’t seen her in many years, I have thought of her often, as well as the whole family.

Take care Mastre’s!
