Reta M. Grieve (nee Amos)

May 1928 to June 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the matriarch of our family. Reta is survived by her loving husband, Bob and her children: Jim (Brenda) of Alberta, Jennifer (Jim) of Ontario and Bill (Doreen) of Texas. Reta was a much beloved grandmother to six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Reta was predeceased by her siblings, Bruce Amos and Muriel Amos.

Reta trained as a registered nurse in London, Ontario and though her professional career was brief, she was a lifelong caregiver to family and friends.

Reta and Bob moved frequently throughout Bob’s career with Imperial Oil and Reta took great pride in making a house a home and cultivating new friendships along the way. She enjoyed travelling, skiing, golf, bridge, parties and summers at the cottage in Port Burwell. Reta especially loved family gatherings and playing Scrabble, Monopoly and Crokinole with her grandchildren.

Special thanks are extended to Rutherford Heights Seniors residence staff for making every day joyful and for their unfailing care and support. Thanks also to the healthcare teams at Misericordia Hospital and Norwood Hospice for providing the very best medical and palliative care.

As per Reta’s final wishes there will be no funeral.
