

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Joseph “Rick” Keeling, 64, of Edmonton, Alberta, and formerly of Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia. Rick passed away on May 28 at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton.
Born in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Rick was the son of the late Bennett and Florence (Fee) Keeling.
Rick spent many years working with Canadian Tire in both Nova Scotia and Alberta, where he built strong relationships and was known for his reliability, kindness, and easygoing nature.
Rick is survived by his devoted wife, Corinne, who was his constant source of strength, love, and support. Their partnership was one built on deep loyalty and quiet understanding, and Corinne remained by his side throughout every step of his illness. He is also survived by his son, Sandy MacDougall; his brothers Michael (Jesslyn) and Mark (Tanya). Rick will be fondly remembered by his Mother in law Cecile, sister in laws Clare, Rose Anne, Frances, Jacqui and Angela. many nieces and nephews: Jordan, Riley, Donald, John, Amanda, Clayton, Jonathan, Taylor, Billy, Katy, Jamie, Natalie, Laura, David, Indy, Lucas John, and Dionne.
Besides his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister Benita, as well as his grandparents Joe and Nellie Fee and George and Alice Keeling.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, the Retina Clinic, and the Grey Nuns Hospital for their care and compassion throughout Rick’s illness.
As per Rick’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place, and burial will occur at a later date.
Memorial donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice
