I am just finding this now as I was recounting the time I was a patient in the psych unit at the Royal Alex hospital. Dr. Dew was such an inspiration for me to keep living. I feel truly blessed to have been one of his patients and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I just saw this sad news now. I just remembered him and his red hair and decided to check on him, and he is dead. I remember him at Lakehead University when he was doing his PHD in Psychology. He had intuition. I really remember that.  I chatted with him a few times after I moved to Toronto. It's been a while. I am sad and shocked to see that after all the hard work, he has passed.  This is just a reminder that life is short. May his soul rest in peace.

We think about you often. The little boy with the red hair, Rob. Miss making you a spaghetti dinner that you so liked.  You always had a great smile. XX

Rob was my therapist for 5 years. I can say without a doubt I would not be where I am today without his guidance, kindness and belief in my ability to overcome any obstacle. Rob was an incredibly kind human being. One of the best I've ever met to be honest. It seems so unfair that he is no longer with us. I hope it's a comfort to his family just how much of an impact he had on my life and all of the people he helped. He truly made a difference, a big one. Thank you Rob. I am forever grateful. 

It has been 1 year since you passed. We miss you and always will. We thought of you as a son. You were our son David's best friend.  You always had time to visit us and we were so happy we got to see you in July 2019. We didn't know it would be the last time. You will always be the little boy with the red hair and we loved you. 

Rob was a dedicated and caring psychologist who had faith that even the most challenging situations can improve.  He communicated this to his clients in a manner that engendered hope and fueled the courage to move towards change.  He was a long time member of the Northland Family and will be greatly missed by his colleagues and clients alike.  

Dear Rob: 
You were always known to us as the little boy with the red hair.  
You always had a smile on your face.
You were our son, David's best friend since grade 4.
You always asked for spaghetti if you stayed for dinner.
You were so polite, your parents taught you well. 
You cared about people, you were willing to give a hand to anyone who  needed it. Thus your profession, suited you well.
You made a special effort to visit us even after you moved to Edmonton. Thank you for your visit this July. Little did we know it would be the last time we would see you.  We along with your friends, family and co-workers will miss you dearly. You left this world a better place. May you rest in peace dear Rob. Love & fondest memories.
