It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert on June 13, 2026.
Rob was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and coworker. He and his wife, Star, would have celebrated 13 years of marriage this August.
Rob spent much of his career in the oil and gas industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He took pride in his work and was never one to do things halfway.
Outside of work, Rob's greatest passion was travel. He loved exploring new places and creating memories with Star. The most memorable vacations they shared were to Italy, Argentina and most recently, Bora Bora in April. He had been making big plans to travel Europe and to go on an African safari.
He was also a talented cook who enjoyed preparing meals for the people he cared about. He was especially proud of his raspberry pancakes, soups, and Indian cuisine.
Standing 6'4", Rob was a larger-than-life presence in more ways than one. He was generous, loyal, and never shy about sharing his opinions. Rob was a self-proclaimed nerd and loved chemistry and computers. He had a unique sense of humour that sometimes took a little getting used to, but those who knew him best wouldn't have wanted him any other way. Whether he was telling a story, debating a topic, or sitting down for a game of Yahtzee with his dad and Star, Rob left a lasting impression on everyone around him.
Although Rob is survived by his father (Bernie) , brother (Marc) , aunts, uncles, and extended family, he also considered Star's family and friends to be his own. Over the years, they became an important part of his life, and he was loved by many.
Rob's absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. He will be remembered for his strength, his humour, his generosity, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
