Rob is survived by his loving wife (two hearts beat as one) and best friend of 63 years Mary, his daughter Kathleen and husband Reid, grandchildren; Kalie (Trevor), Kelsey (Brandon), great grandchildren; Aiden, Karsen, Brooks and Lucius, son-in-law Todd, sisters; Hazel and Violet, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Rob was predeceased by his daughter Moira, grandson Robbie, sister Molly, brothers; Sandy, Jim, and William.
As a young lad Rob enlisted in the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) and the Royal Artillery, serving in Malta and North Africa. When Rob finished serving his country he married the love of his life Mary and together they had 2 daughters. He managed many farms in Scotland until 1972 when the family made the decision to emigrate to Canada. Once settled in Edmonton he worked for Building Products of Canada until retirement in 1990. His retirement years were enjoyed with Mary living in British Columbia, Newfoundland and back again in Alberta. Rob’s passions included time in the orchards, rearing birds, hiking, walking in the countryside, riding motorcycles in Scotland, his quad in Alberta and watching NASCAR but his biggest passion was always family.
Rob will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
