Roxanne Hastings (nee Ross Hastings) passed away suddenly on June 2, 2016, in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 59.
Roxy was well respected in the field of botany – specializing in lichens and bryophytes and had many publications. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Alberta. For 26 years, she worked for the Royal Alberta Museum, where she retired as Curator of Botany. Besides her love for botany and physical geography, she had many hobbies. Two of these were photography and brewing. Through these activities she made many close friends, who we know will miss her dearly.
Roxy was predeceased by her father Irving (Nov 2012) and her mother Joyce (Mar 2016). She is survived by her brother Robert, her sister-in-law Cheryl and her niece Zoe.
A private service will be held at a future date for family and friends. Any donations can be made in her name to the Edmonton Humane Society.
Arrangements under the direction of Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Edmonton, AB.
