He was predeceased by his parents Gus and Caroline and brothers William and Leo.
Rudolf grew up near Hay Lakes, worked for CNR for 36 years and retired for 38 years, which was his goal. During his retirement he enjoyed golfing and reading the Journal comics.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth (Bittner), sons; Randolf (Evelyn), Ronald and step-grandchildren; Athena and Michael Peryk.
