Sudeep was born on May 22, 1979, in New Delhi, India, and moved to Edmonton with her family at the age of nine. Edmonton became home, and it was here that she grew up, built her career, raised her family, and created a life surrounded by the people she loved.
Sudeep had a meaningful career with The Alberta Teachers’ Association, where she served as Membership Support Manager. Her work reflected many of the values she held deeply in her own life: fairness, responsibility, compassion, and supporting people when they needed help.
Above all else, family was the most important part of Sudeep’s life. Her family was at the centre of her world, and the time she spent with those she loved meant more to her than anything else.
Sudeep will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and warm, welcoming demeanour. She had a natural ability to make people feel comfortable, included, and cared for. She was a compassionate person with a strong sense of fairness. She believed in following the rules, in a just society, and in the importance of a strong social safety net for those who were struggling or less fortunate.
Her compassion extended to both people and animals. Sudeep enjoyed donating blood and believed strongly in helping others. She adored her dogs, Juju and Sofia, and dreamed of one day building an animal shelter in India to care for animals in need.
Sudeep also knew how to enjoy life. She loved beach vacations, sushi, Maggi Masala noodles, and all things chocolate. She had a special love for 1990s Bollywood movies and loved shopping, particularly for earrings and shoes.
She loved dressing up for parties and, more often than not, was the best-dressed person in the room. She also loved taking photos, capturing celebrations, family gatherings, vacations, and the everyday moments she wanted to remember. Those photographs now become part of the many memories her family will treasure.
Sudeep is lovingly remembered by her husband, Surinder Dua; her children, Surina and Navdeep; her mother, Paramjit Gauba; her brother, Manjit Gauba; her sister-in-law, Reena Gauba; and her nephews, Amandeep and Amit Gauba, along with her extended family, friends, and colleagues.
She was predeceased by her father, Pritpal Gauba.
Sudeep’s passing leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved her. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her unmistakable sense of style, her compassion for others, her love of animals, her strong sense of fairness, and above all, her devotion to her family.
The photographs she took captured moments in time, but the most important memories of Sudeep will live in the hearts of the people who shared those moments with her.
A funeral service celebrating Sudeep’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hainstock Funeral Home.
