January 30, 1995 to August 4, 2021
The brightest lights burn out the fastest.
On Wednesday August 4th, we lost the shining, beautiful light of our lives. We lost our best friend, brother, son and all around pain in the butt, Thomas.
Thomas lived life to the fullest and was not afraid to march to the beat of his own drum. There was the easy way, the hard way and then, the Thomas way.
Always curious and inventive, he had a brilliant mind and a rascal spirit. Thomas had a huge infectious grin and was always laughing with his head thrown back and mouth wide open enjoying his latest prank and scheming about his next. He touched everyone’s lives and left an indelible impression (sometimes literally). We had years and years and years of happy noise, dart gun blasts, joyous shrieks and loud rumbling shenanigans coming up from the basement. This in essence was life with Thomas. We will cherish these memories always.
Equally cherished by all was how affectionate Thomas was. Thomas was never shy with his displays of affection. Hugs and I love you’s flowed freely and every single one of them was genuine, just like Thomas.
Thomas loved his family as much as his entire family loved him. We are all devastated and will always wonder what life would have been like if he’d had his own family. He would have been the uncle that all of the kids would have demanded to visit. He was just that fun.
Left behind are his loving mother and stepfather, Alison Hammond-Weiss and Kelly Weiss, devoted father, Berland Hammond and stepmother, Patti Hammond, siblings, William Hammond, Zachary Weiss, Maxwell Weiss, Brok Badger, Brolin Badger and Bronte Badger as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents both here on earth and those in heaven. Thomas had many friends, but none so dear and longstanding as Jake Berrns.
Dear Thomas, you have transitioned from the shining beautiful light of our lives into a radiant brilliant star in the sky and in our hearts. Rest easy and soar high.
Memorial Service is planned for May 28th, 2022 at 1pm at Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium 9810 34 avenue Edmonton, AB T6E 6L1.
