Thresiamma Changarathil

It is with great sadness that the family of Thresiamma Changarathil announces her passing on August 18, 2026, at the age of 88.

Thresiamma will be lovingly remembered by her beloved sons, Thomas (Teena) and Robin, and her cherished grandson, Christian. She also leaves behind her sister, Mariakutty (Chacko Arackal), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends in Canada, the United States, India and around the world.

Thresiamma was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Mathews Thomas Changarathil; her precious grandson, Matthew; her parents, Itty (Abraham) Aduparayil and Mariam (Nellikatil) Aduparayil; and her siblings, Aly (Chacko Madathil), Mariam (Uthup Thekumkattil), Joseph (Mariam Valassary), Abraham (Mariakutty Kunnapallil), and Anna (Joseph Pandikkattu).

Thresiamma was born on June 2, 1938, and grew up in Puthuvely (Kottayam District), Kerala, India. She studied nursing as a young adult and immigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in 1969. Her courage in leaving her homeland helped pave the way for her husband, sister, and many brothers and sisters-in-law to follow, creating opportunities that continue to benefit her family today.

Thresiamma worked as a nurse at various hospitals throughout Edmonton, caring for others with kindness and compassion. Her family was at the center of her life, and she found great joy in her sons and grandson. Her deep Catholic faith guided her throughout her life.

Thresiamma will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, devotion to family, and the quiet strength and courage that shaped not only her own life, but the lives of generations that followed.

After many years apart, there is comfort in knowing that Thresiamma is reunited with her husband Mathews and grandson Matthew. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9810 34th Ave, Edmonton, AB, T6E6L1, CA, on August 30, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Funeral Service will take place at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 210 Haddow Close NW, Edmonton, AB, T6R 2P3, CA, on August 31, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The Committal Service will be held at Rosehill Cemetery, 1605 141 St SW, Edmonton, AB, T6W 2T6, CA, on August 31, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
