Tony Shu-Tong Mah

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Tony Shu-Tong Mah, on June 29, 2026, at the age of 89.

Born in Canton, China, Tony began life’s journey with humble roots and an adventurous spirit. During his childhood, his father, Shang Mah, immigrated to Canada to work and support Tony and his mother, Sue Wah, who remained in China. In 1962, Tony left his homeland and embarked on his own journey, settling in the United Kingdom, where he worked hard and saved for his future. In 1968, he immigrated to Canada and was joyfully reunited with his parents. Through perseverance, determination, and unwavering hard work, Tony built a life filled with opportunity and created a strong foundation for his family.

In 1970, Tony married the love of his life, Virginia. Together they shared more than five decades of love, partnership, and devotion, raising a family and creating a lifetime of cherished memories. Following Virginia’s passing in February of this year, Tony deeply missed his beloved wife. While our family mourns the loss of them both, we find comfort in knowing they are together once again.

Tony was a kind, caring, and generous man who always put his family first. He was known for his quiet strength, gentle nature, and wonderful sense of humour, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. His wisdom, guidance, and unwavering love shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Tony leaves behind his three sons, Randy, Lawrence, and Kevin, along with his three grandsons, Kieran, Carter, and Logan, who loved him dearly and will forever cherish the memories they shared. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the lives he touched, and the compassion he gave so freely.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Your compassion has brought great comfort as we navigate this profound loss.

Though he is no longer with us, Tony’s love, strength, gentle spirit, and infectious sense of humour will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dad. You will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and greatly missed.

Following the committal service, family and friends are warmly invited to join us for dinner at 4:30 p.m. at Good Buddy North, 9499 137 Avenue NW, Edmonton.

To assist with planning, we kindly ask that you confirm your attendance at the dinner with Lawrence either before or on the day of the funeral.

Visitation will be held at Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB, T5L4X1, CA, on July 17, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB, T5L4X1, CA, on July 18, 2026, from 2:00 pm.

A Committal Service will follow at Northern Lights Cemetery, 15203 Campbell Rd NW, Edmonton, AB, T6V 1H4, CA, on July 18, 2026.
