Vernon Arthur Nast

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Vern Nast announces his passing on May 25, 2026, at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cecille, their three children, James (Jessie), Christy (Adrian), and Trina (Marc) as well as seven grandchildren.

Vern was a well respected businessman best known as the long-time owner of Edmonton Tent & Awning 2000 Inc. He approached his work with the same dedication and passion he brought to everything else in life.

An avid outdoorsman, Vern loved camping, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. He grew up with horses and carried that passion throughout his life, whether riding with the Edmonton Sherriff’s Posse or spending time at “Misty Meadows."

He inherited a natural talent for music and art from his parents – gifts he proudly passed on to his children and grandchildren. And of course no family gathering was complete without a card game. Vern took great joy in keeping score, often adding his own unique artistic touches to the score sheet.

Vern’s life will be honoured and remembered by family and close friends in a private memorial.
