It is with deep sorrow that the family announce the passing of Winnifred Beatrice Leighton of Edmonton, Alberta on January 15, 2023 at the age of 91 years. Winnifred was born and raised in Dunham, Quebec and moved to Alberta in 1958.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her 5 children, Beatrice, Sheila, Clara, Clayton (Evelyn), Karol (Gerald) as well as her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two, great- great- grandchildren. Winnifred was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice and Harold Wilson; 2 husbands, George Hunt and Jack Leighton; son-in-law, David Baker and her Granddaughter, Lindsay.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Doctors and staff of Unit 19 at the Sturgeon Community Hospital for the kindness and care shown to Winnifred and the family.
