Bruno Gerald Zvirzin, age 76, of Spring Valley, California passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. He was a retired Aerospace Engineer and long time employee of General Dynamics.
Born in Aurora, Illinois, Bruno enlisted into the United States Navy at the age of 17, a venture that brought him to the shores of San Diego. While in San Diego, he crossed paths with his soon-to-be wife - Marie. Married from 1968 until their divorce in 2009, they remained close and still lived only a few blocks apart from one another at the time of his death. Bruno was proud of many things in his life -- but his greatest accomplishments have always been his two children and his five grandchildren. Bruno leaves behind a resilient and loving family who will remember him for his not-so-great singing abilities, his quirky sense of humor, the kindness he always extended to complete strangers, exceptional fishing skills, funny stories, an infectious laugh, his outgoing personality and a kind heart. He will be remembered as a strong willed, outspoken man with a great sense of humor.
Bruno is survived by his daughter Michelle Zvirzin of Spring Valley, California and his son Bruno Zvirzin Jr. of Temecula, California. He was the proud grandfather of five amazing grandchildren: Charles Rodriguez, Nicolas Zvirzin, Marco Zvirzin, Christian Musial and Corrine Epps. Bruno is also survived by sisters Leona Bowers (Gary) of Port Charlotte, Florida; Antoinette Taterka of Buffalo, Indiana; Maureen Vanmeter of Addison, Illinois; and Eileen Naughton-Chapa of Oak Park, Illinois. Bruno was preceded in death by their eldest sibling, Darlene Zvirzin-Farley.
