Jon Howard Lutz, age 82, of El Cajon, California passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Jon was born February 22, 1939 in Newberg, Indiana. Jon is survived by his wife, Barbara Lutz; daughter Jackie Capps (Bobby) of Iuka, Mississippi; and daughter Kelley Barretto (Mike) of Alpine, California; along with children, Barbara Lutz, Robert Lutz, and Kenneth Lutz; sister Linda Gordon (Steve) of Portland, Oregon, brother Ronald Lutz (Leslie) of Tennessee, Don Lutz (Peggy) of Highland, California and sister Cinda Ferguson of Laguna Beach, California. Jon is also survived by 8 grandchildren Jeffrey Capps (Mariah), Joshua Capps (Chelsey), Jacob Capps (Chelsi), Julianne Moore (Anthony), Jessica Bullard (Andrew), Kalei Barretto, Mikala Barretto, and Michael Barretto, Jon is also survived by 8 great grandchildren Briley, Addysen, and Colin Capps; Clark and Claire Capps, Thea and Gwen Moore, and Chandler Capps.
Jon spent many years in the construction industry in the San Diego area. He has been involved in ministry over the past 29 years, and was currently the Associate Pastor at Mountain View Bible Church in Alpine. Jon was loved by everyone and touched many lives. His passing will leave a huge void in his family and church family.
A visitation for Jon will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at El Cajon Mortuary and Cremation Service, 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020, with a private graveside service immediately following at the Alpine Cemetery, 2495 Victoria Dr., Alpine, CA 91901. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, June 13, 2021, at 2 pm, at Mountain View Bible Church, 2710 Alpine Boulevard, (rear building) in Alpine.
