

Joyce Ann Rodgers was the youngest of four children. Born in Detroit, Michigan and later moving with her family to El Cajon, California. As a young girl she liked playing with Barbie dolls, riding bike, and playing with the neighbor children. In high school she loved being a member of the marching Band at El Cajon Valley High School. During marching band is where she met Jim and he became the love of her life. Not long after high school she married Jim and they immediately started their own family. She also started her career as a cosmetologist. Joyce loved her work and made many friends, some even became extended family.
Joyce was a mother to three daughters, Mari Catherine, Rachael, and Jennifer. Parenting brought many joys to her. As her daughters grew and started their own families Joyce was blessed with nine grandchildren. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by them all and hear them call her Grammy.
Her favorite hobbies were long drives with Jim, camping with family and friends, baking with the grandkids, watching the sunset at the beach, listening to music, crocheting blankets for the grandkids, and hosting birthdays and holidays.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
