Marilyn Suzanne Grame, née Wilt, was born in San Diego in 1933 and resided her whole lifetime in Southern California. She was married to William Grame, Jr for over fifty years, a mother of three, step-mother to three, grandmother to eight, and great grandmother of thirteen. The only child of artistic parents, she enjoyed painting and art all her life. A prize winning artist, Marilyn owned Studio 2 Art Gallery in La Mesa, California during the 70’s, and taught painting privately for over 60 years, right up to her passing. Her specialty was animal paintings in all mediums and contributed to several of the Walter Foster How-To books and was a demonstrator for art materials manufacturers. She designed animal jewelry that was sold at the San Diego Zoo, and illustrated a children’s book. She even turned her hand to HaiKu poetry. Her greatest joys were her family and friends and teaching art.
