I first became aware of Mary Allison when I was elected to the Board of Directors for the Lakeside Fire Protection District.  She was introduced to me as one of Lakeside's most sincere community activists.  Later, she too was elected to the Board.  I would run into her at any public meeting I attended such as the Lakeside Planning Group.  I was always impressed with how much she knew, and understood, of how local government worked, such as the S D County Board of Supervisors.   Lakeside has lost a treasure.
