Robert Sylvester Kibby

March 24th 1933 – September 22nd 2015

Robert S. Kibby 82 of El Cajon CA passed away on Tuesday September 22nd, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 24th, 1933 in Cook County Illinois to Albert and Margaret Kibby. Robert was originally from the Chicago area where he spent the majority of his life.

He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 as a Cpl. and spent 18 months overseas in Korea. He then continued to serve as a part of the Reserves. Upon returning from Korea, he was employed with Martin Senior Paint until he retired. He worked for many years with ABC Auto Parks in the Chicago area. In 2004, Bob decided to move to California to be with his children and grandchildren. He was known to everyone as G-Pa. In April of 2015 Robert was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He decided to spend the remainder of his time traveling and spending time with his family. Robert also enjoyed riding the casino buses to hang out and play a few quarters or nickels on his favorite machine.

He was preceded in death by his parents a brother, a sister and his daughter Rosanne M. Forston and his beloved wife Alice M. Kibby.

Robert is survived by his brother Jim Kibby, daughter Robin M. White and her husband Jack. His daughter Rene M. Doehrer, his son Robert M. Kibby and his wife Cathy. His daughter Rachel M. Kibby and her husband Steve, 17 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren.

The family will be holding a private ceremony in Arizona on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015.
