I am so sorry to read of the passing of the Buchmiller boys. My condolences to all of their families and friends.   
l went to school with Ron and Jimmy (as they were called in school). After Ron became a priest he baptized my first born niece at St. Martin's Church soo many years ago.  His birth date is on the same day as my husband's - Nov. 14th - (different year). Odd coincidence... My parents and their parents and us kids were friends from Holy Trinity. My name is Ed Andersen from NJ. Ron and I were classmates at the
seminary in El Cajon,CA & later seminary at UNIVERSITY  OF
SAN DIEGO. I left the seminary  in CA in 1966; went back to NJ to
seminary there.
I want everyone to know how generous Ron was to me. Before Ron
went study in Rome I told him that I collected Vatican stamps. Ron
would white letters to me in NJ & in every letter he includedMINT  
Vatican stamps issued at that time. HE was always FAITHFUL in
writing & sending those stamps to me. He never asked for  any money. I still have EVERYONE of those stamps. Never got to
thank Ron in person for his GENEROSITY.

This is a old friend, who played in the accordion band, in El Cajon with Ronnie. We were 12 then and he sat next to me. I was a member of St. Martin after he was there. We met once more at a Confirmation dinner, at St. Martin's, where I taught the class. Iam a old grannie now, but for some reason he came to mind. Saying prayers for him, and am thankful for our time here. God Bless.

Fr. Ron was a blessing and meant alot to our family. We met him when he was at St. Charles in the late 70s.  While he was in the Navy, he kept in touch with us. Being that my parents were from Italy, we had another connection because he spent time in Naples, close to my parents' hometown.
When my dad was on hospice care 12 years ago, a couple of communion ministers from his parish in Lakeside visited the room to distribute communion.  When we found out they were from his parish, we asked them to say hi to him for us. Within a couple of hours, he was there, at the hospice house.  That was the kind of special priest he was. A year later we asked him to preside over my dad's funeral.
When I was in 8th grade at St. Charles in 1977,  he took our class on a 1 night camping trip, most likely a retreat. With only 6 or 8 girls , our teacher stayed with us in 1 tent, the boys were in separate tents and Fr. Ron and I believe some seminarians stayed outside by the campfire to make sure no one left any of the tents! None of them got any sleep, but we did!  
His presence will surely be missed by many, but our memories of him will live forever. Fr. Ron, rest in peace. We love you! ❤️  Cathy Pietanza

We were sad to learn of Fr. Ron Buchmiller's passing.   He was a good friend and a joy to visit during our mutual travels with the U.S. Navy.  He is truly missed.
Fr. Ron was the U.S. Navy Chaplain in London and presided over our marriage at RAF West Ruislip Chapel in June 1990.  We had the pleasure of his company during our tour in the United Kingdom.  Our paths crossed again in Norfolk, VA a few years later.  Fr. Ron participated in my commissioning ceremony in 1993.  
He / We subsequently were transferred in the late 1990's to Italy.  He as Chaplain in Naples and us to NAS Sigonella (Sicily).  Fr. Ron retired from active duty in a wonderful ceremony at Naval Support Activity Naples from the U.S. Navy several years later.   I was able to see Fr. Ron at OLPH in Lakeside, CA a couple of times while in California with the Navy.

He was such a blessing to me. I was facing a surgery that he had and convinced me to relax. He always had a great smile and lived what he preached. RIP Father Ron. I will pray for you.

I know Father Ron sponsored many pilgrimages. I was blessed to have made one with his groups in October 2013 to the Holy Land and another in 2015 to Italy. During both those pilgrimages, Father Ron went out of his way to "shepherd" his flock. He was infinitely patient, kind, friendly, and warm, giving us advice and good counsel. When Fr. Ron heard my Confession, after he absolved me of my sins, I'll always remember his parting words: "Remember Whose daughter you are!"  I believe that Our Lord greeted Father Ron with the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master's joy." Rest in Peace, Father Ron.

We are totally saddened to learn of Ron’s passing. Together in Yokosuka, he and our entire family bonded in a special way.
He was “Father Ron” to our young children; close and dear friend to Jane and myself, my constant source of inspiration, frequent dinner guest, and brilliant foil off of whom I frequently bounced perplexing and frustrating questions. He usually gave sage advice. I was significantly moved and touched that this worked both ways. If there is a place in Heaven where  he can spread his love and warmth and personal guidance, I know he has found it.

The Deely family first met Fr. Ron when he was assigned to St. Charles Borromeo  Church as an Associate. He was loved by all and missed when he became a Navy Chaplain. We stayed in touch over the years and was delighted to have him over for lunch approximately 2 months ago. Such a shock to hear the news. It know he is now in the arms of Our loving Lord.

May Fr. Ron Rest In Peace.  We all know he is right next to God in heaven. He was one of the best, if not the best Priest around.  His sermons were top notch. They were just long enough to get his Point across and keep your attention! He loved sharing his faith with everyone and was a great example to everyone.  It was my privilege to have known Fr. Ron and I know he was an inspiration to my parents that went to OLPH Church.  I am sure my parents were part of the welcoming committee behind the Lord in heaven. My condolences to his family.

Fr Ron was a large part of our family  while he was at St Francis in Riverside 
He was so wonderful to my mother and my brothers when my father passed away at a young age.  Anytime we called him he would try to help with baptism, wedding and just family fun!

To the Buchmiller family,
I knew Fr. Ron for over 50 years and have so many precious memories of times we shared and those with Joan and Buck. We shared cutting firewood in the mountains, CYO beach camp out, mass said at our home, St. Patrick’s Day party in school cafeteria and of course the dedication  Fr Ron and Fr Doug said when we launched our commercial fishing boat. Fr. Ron was a very special human being filled with lots of love and compassion for all people and he touched so many lives because of it. He will truly be missed. I am sure he is basking with all the angels, his mom and dad along with Jimmy and Johnny. The rest in peace.

my name is rev francis flynn..i  was a classmate of Ron's in Rome and we traveled together several times. I was with him when he reconnected with his German relatives in Ostringen. I had reconnected with him a couple of months ago and we exchanged several emails. another classmate died a short time ago and friday I was going thru old boxed of pictures looking for pictures on that classmate and I came across pictures that I had made from slides of the german families, along with the slides. I was literally sitting in front of my computer about to email Ron when I got the call saying that he had died. i would like to mail the pictures to his family but don't have names or addresses so if someone could help me with that. My heart is heavy from the news that Fr. Ron has passed. The Buchmiller family was a second family to us when we were growing up, and I was close with Joan, Johnny, Buck and Rosemarie. There were many family masses, fun beach adventures, and sleep overs on the Murphy bed. I admired Fr. Ron, and looked up to him. He even got me out of trouble with sister Conceta at Saint Martin’s Academy.. my parents and I just had lunch with him about four years ago, and it was so good to see him. My condolences to you all, we will miss him, and we’re grateful to have known him and I’ve had him in our lives.
