Terrence Van Lancelot Caster, the first-born child of Terrence R. and Barbara Caster, entered this world as the eldest of eight siblings. As first-born Terry Van experienced all the joy of his rapidly growing family, welcoming each of his beloved siblings as they came along. He naturally took on a leadership role, often assisting his parents in managing the dynamics of a large household and helping to guide his younger siblings as they navigated their own relationships with each other and life in general.

He married his first wife Jean in 1975. Together they had five children: Jessica, Nicole, Dustin, Terrence A., and Ashley. Though their marriage ultimately ended, they worked together to raise their children and guide them into adulthood. Life's journey then led Terry Van to immerse himself further into the family business, playing a key role in building what is now A1 Self Storage, following the example set by his parents.
In addition to his business endeavors, Terry Van volunteered with the Missionaries of Charity, forming a special relationship with Mother Teresa. Her words of wisdom and encouragement became guiding principles in his life, especially during challenging times.
