William J. Conklin

William J. Conklin (Bill), age 75, of Santee, CA passed away suddenly Friday, November 26, 2021. Bill was born and raised in Mill Valley by his adoptive parents, Harry and Lucille Conklin. He honorably served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. Bill retired from Retail Management and in retirement he was enjoying his favorite pastime, Baseball; working for the Padres at Petco park for the past 12 years as an Usher. Bill’s passions included: working hours on end building his model boats and ships, loyal Padres fan, loving and caring for his dogs through the years that were always faithfully by his side, and enjoyed reading about World and US Military history. He was dearly loved by his family and known for his dry humor and “grunts.”

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his grandson Corey Rosenthal. He is survived by his loving wife Linda; two daughters: Cathie Rigel (husband Jeff) and Lisa Johnston (husband Sean) and step son: Rick Schroeder (wife Mary); and grandchildren: Christian Rigel, Danica Sanders, and Emma, and Kaden Schroeder; and his first wife Glenda Nordmeyer. A Military funeral honors ceremony at Miramar National Cemetery and Celebration of Life Open House to follow will be held on January 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Humane Society, a charity that was so close to Bill’s heart.
