Danny Birchfield

Danny had retired after 40 plus years as the service manager at Smackover Motors and was a retired volunteer firefighter for the City of Smackover. He never went anywhere that he didn't run into one of his customers, even when he was in the hospital. He loved to tell stories of past hunting and fishing experiences, especially with his dad and brother. Of course, later in life there were the trips to Grand Lake with James Langley and Jim Golden. (Just ask James and Jim). He looked forward to deer season hunting with his son, daughter, brother and nephews. After his first love passed away, he inherited grandchildren with his second love and a whole new world opened up to him. Camping with Jimmy and Kathy Kennedy became a new love and experience.

Preceding him in death are his first love, Susie Hayden Birchfield and his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his second love and wife, Lynn Kennedy Birchfield; son, Steven (Kelly); daughter, Beth; bonus son, Josh (Julie) Schibler; grandchildren, Cade (Payton), Claire, Jacob, Jase and Jillian Schibler; baby great granddaughter, Sadie Schibler; sister, Rita Ferguson; brother and Burger King buddy, Ricky (Kym) Birchfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and other special ones who call him "Uncle".

We would like to thank Tanya Golden, APRN and Melissa Word, RN at Smackover Family Practice for their care of Danny. A special thanks to all the people at Courtyard Rehabilitation and Health Center for their care and support.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Young's.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Smackover with Rev. Anthony Briggs and Bro. Bob McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
