

She was born on September 27, 1932 in Bangs, Texas to parents, Otis and Thelma Barnes. She graduated from Bangs High School and attended business school in Ft. Worth, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony Joseph “A.J.”Olivier, Jr.; and her grandson, Anthony Joseph Olivier.
She is survived by her two sons, Steven “Steve” Lee Olivier and his wife Joy Solomon Olivier, of El Dorado; and Anthony “Tony” Gerard Olivier and his wife Alicia Allen Olivier, of El Dorado. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer Blair Olivier, Austin James Olivier, and Virginia Grace Olivier.
In 1960, at the start of Southern Perforators, Inc. which was spearheaded by her husband, A.J., Doris played an active role as bookkeeper. Following the death of her husband in 1972, Doris expanded her job duties to sustain the company and successfully performed as a strong businesswoman until her retirement in 2004. Her continued dedication and commitment molded a stable, productive foundation that is still honored today by her two sons. Their devotion has caused the company to prevail during their leadership.
She was a free-spirited soul who prided in reaching out to others; no stranger was unwelcomed in her presence. Her friendly, outgoing disposition made her an excellent candidate for volunteer work as she was always willing to provide assistance for a good cause. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority prior to the onset of her illness as well as volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital. She expressed her crafty nature through painting as well as her other artistic abilities. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was part of multiple bridge clubs.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with Father Charles Chapman officiating and burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Directors.
The family will be at the residence of Tony and Alicia Olivier at 2105 Parkwood Dr., El Dorado.
