Dorothy and her husband Richard spent more than 66 years in the ministry serving churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, New Mexico and California. The years they spent in the areas of Hot Springs and El Dorado, Arkansas encompassed more than 36 years of their life and service together.
Since relocating to Texas two years ago, Dorothy was an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, North Campus in Prosper, Texas, where she was involved in the WOW (Women of Worth) Bible Fellowship Class as well as the North Campus Adult Choir.
She grew up as a child of the Great Depression, yet never asked for anything other than a chance to work hard and create an opportunity for her family and her children. She successfully raised “five only children” – balancing her marriage and family with working outside the home. She spent many years in the business world - with a concentration in banking, accounting and administration.
In addition to family, friends and church - she was a voracious learner and reader. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining – and was known to love a party (especially if it was a pot luck!) Life was a simple recipe for her. Start with unwavering FAITH IN GOD and his son Jesus Christ ... add in unlimited amounts of UNCONDITIONAL love for family .... mix in lots of LASTING RELATIONSHIPS with friends ... and finally include TREATING OTHERS WITH THE DIGNITY GOD GAVE THEM - no matter their position, financial status, attitude or appearance.
Dorothy was a selfless person of great love and compassion who touched the lives of everyone she knew. She will be greatly missed.
