Florence Pearl Berg Young

She was born Aug. 31, 1924, to Ira and Edith Eva Davis Berg in O’Fallon, Ill. She was a member of the Calion Assembly of God Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and was active in reading her Bible.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Vernon Young Sr.; two brothers, Harold Berg and Bill Berg; two sisters, Irma Flanigan and Edna House; and two sons, Nathan Young and Marvin Young.

Survivors include one son, Vernon Lee Young Jr. (Bobbie) of Calion; two brothers, Ira Berg (Thelma) and her twin, Lawrence E. Berg (Lois), both of Mena; one daughter-in-law, Frances Young of Hot Springs; friends, Ted and Norma Jean Anders and Mike and Eugenia Buffington; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the Calion Assembly of Church with the Rev. Charles Elliott and the Rev. Wendell Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
