Ida Mae Smith Tucker, 69, of El Dorado passed away Monday, December 19, 2016, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born January 10, 1947, to Johnnie Mayron and Lois Marie Machen Smith in Magnolia, AR.
She was owner/beauty operator of Salon Royale for over forty years. Ida was a friend to everyone that walked in her beauty shop. She was a beautiful friend, sister, wife and mother. She was “Mae Mae” to many nieces, nephews and friends.
She began spiritual journey at Silver Hill Methodist Church in Mount Holly. During her young adult life she attended St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in El Dorado. When she married Dennis in 1979, she began attending Immanuel Baptist Church in Camden. In the later years, the Tucker family transferred to Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado. Her spiritual journey is what led her to become one of the best Sunday school teachers her class had ever had. She was also a prayer warrior for anyone who asked.
Ida loved to travel with her family. During her married life, Dennis, Ida and Jonathan traveled all fifty states and parts of Canada.
Preceding her in death are her parents.
Survivors include her husband Dennis N. Tucker; son, Jonathan Carl Tucker both of El Dorado; and brother, John Lee Smith (Anita) of Mount Holly, AR.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Meek officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Louann under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
