

He was born July 22, 1934 in Junction City, AR to Louie Norris and Jessie Brazzel Norris. Before retiring James worked as a foreman at Gordy Tool. He was a member of Antioch Church of Christ and enjoyed frying fish on the Fourth of July and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, Kevin Norris and a sister Annette Boatright.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice Raye Wood Norris; a daughter, Jan Pepper of El Dorado; a brother, Dean Norris and wife Nancy of El Dorado; a sister, Jean Page and husband Buster of Shreveport; granddaughters, April Aycock and husband Wes, Allison Sweet, Jana Gates and husband David and Jenny Williams; two great-granddaughters, Anna Aycock and Alivia Aycock; two great grandsons, Kaden Sweet and Luke Aycock; three nieces and three nephews and a special daughter-in-law, Linda Fitzgerald of El Dorado who called him daddy.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Young’s Chapel with Bros. Tommy and Billy Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
