
He worked for 45 years as a truck driver, but most recently he drove as owner operator. Jimmy was a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church, the Teamsters, the Mississippi Corvette Club, and Boys Deer Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He especially loved the time he spent with the love of his life Mary Ann.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his grandson, Pierce Helms; and great niece, Breckin Helms.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Ann Helms of Junction City; sons, Brad Helms, and Marc Helms (Tracie) both of Pearl, MS; daughter, Tina Mitchell (James) of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Marcus Helms, Patrick Helms, Easton Helms, Johnathan Irons, Timothy Irons, and Trey Wadlington; great grandchildren, Colton, Carter, Zetta, Clayton, River, Hunter, Ledger, Bhodie, Matthew, Maci, Michael, Mia, Memphis, Colton, Cami, and Kennedy; brother, Charlie Helms (Pam) of Piperton, TN; nephews. Josh Helms (Brooke), Aaron Helms (Amy Templeton); niece, Amanda Stange (Lamule); great nieces, Breckin, Graceyn, Peyton, Harper, and Ollie, canine companions, Yellow, Gypsy, Carterette, and Baby girl, and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Three Creeks Baptist Church with Rev. Dano Rainer officiating. Burial will follow at Three Creeks Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Three Creeks Baptist Church.
