He earned a BSN degree in Nursing from South Arkansas University in Magnolia and was of the Episcopal faith.
John is preceded in death are his parents; paternal grandparents, Mary Lou and Homer Lee Perdue; and maternal grandparents, Uell Rhea and Dorothy Almedia Byars.
He is survived by his sister, Joan Jennings of El Dorado.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. March 2, 2013, at Young’s Chapel under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with Rev. Sammie Mathis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
