Born on November 30, 1933 in Bernice, LA; she was the daughter of Dewey and Mary Creel Evans. She worked as a telephone operator and was later a homemaker. She was known for her delicious pecan and lemon pies. Laverne was a member of the First Baptist Church, on the benevolence committee, and was a strong caring person.
Laverne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Lee Hunt; a daughter, Amy Machen; a son, Alan Lamar Hunt; two brothers, Donald and Ronnie Evans; and two sisters, Doris Evans Winfrey, and Glenda Evans Middleton.
Survivors are daughters, Karen Leigh Robinson of El Dorado and Holly Morgan (Chad) of Hot Springs; three sisters, Marilyn Kinman, Gladys Jean Caldwell, Debra Evans; four brothers, Jim, Joey, Roddie and Eddie Evans; seven grandchildren, Abby, Mary, Keeley, Josh, Katlyn, Kandace and Seth; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, at Young's Chapel with Rev. Brian Trostle officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
