Linda Joyce Shelton

Linda J. Shelton (formerly Linda Lauderdale), 77, of El Dorado, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born March 16, 1940, to Clarence Preston and Maudie Devasier Hornbeck in Palestine, AR.

She worked as a beautician in El Dorado for 35 years and also worked as a caregiver in Longview, TX. Linda enjoyed buying, selling and collecting antiques, and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Preceding her in death are her parents; son, Charles Wendell Lauderdale; sister, Jean Lowe Hodges; and four brothers, Sonny, Jimmy, Larry, and Leslie Hornbeck.

Survivors include her husband, Charles C. Shelton of El Dorado; daughter, Renee Anders (Freddy) of Calion; two sons, J.P. Lauderdale, Mike Lauderdale both of El Dorado; step-daughter, Wendy Ravellette (Kerry) of Longview, TX; two sisters, Nellie Higgins of Palestine, AR, Frances Middleton of Pinellas Park, FL; 11 grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7pm Monday, August 7, 2017 at Young’s.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Calion Assembly of God Church with Rev. Pete Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Champagnolle Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Oak Ridge Nursing Home and Lifetouch Hospice especially Kelli and Penne for the loving care they provided Linda.
