
Mary retired from South Arkansas Diagnostic Clinic where she was medical transcriptionist for many years for Drs. Jacob P. Ellis and Larkin M. Wilson, Jr. She was a life-long member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was present for the dedication of the church on November 23, 1923. She had a devotion, first to God and then to her family, that was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe Ellis and Christine Loutfallah Ellis, both of Damascus, Syria; her sister, Edwege E. Granade, two brothers, Blan T. Ellis, Sr., and Jacob P. Ellis; and a nephew, Blan T. Ellis, Jr.
She is survived by one brother, Joe P. Ellis of Kilgore, TX, eleven nieces and nephews; a host of great, and great-great nieces and nephews; a dedicated and loving staff of caregivers at Oak Ridge Nursing and Rehab, especially the “F” Section and Tequila Hicks; and her best friend, Angela Boone Keel.
Vespers will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory A. Pilcher, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
