She was born on August 7, 1952 in Camden, AR, to the late Cecil and Mildred Foster Patterson. She was a graduate of Fairview High School in Camden. She spent many wonderful years as a proud and loving homemaker before pursuing a long and fruitful career in her medical and healthcare receivables enterprise as owner and founder of Medical Business Bureau. Mary attended First United Methodist Church of Norphlet.
Cookie was a lively and vibrant asset to all who knew her. She was known, throughout her life, as an immensely caring, engaging, and helpful person. She was a larger-than-life personality with a particular knack for solving problems and making others feel loved. She was a remarkably competent matriarch in the family. Her greatest passion was loving others...and there was no one better at that than she was.
Mary was an enthusiastic and loving wife, mother, mamaw, sister, aunt, and friend...and the world is a little darker without her in it.
She was preceded in death by her parents along with husband Ronny Wood, a granddaughter Morgan Wood, her brother Lloyd A. "Tony" Patterson, her maternal grandparents Anthony U. and Carmen Foster Sullivan; and her paternal grandparents Fred J. and Mary Cottrell Patterson.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Shelly Hatcher Lout (Jonathan) of Parkers Chapel, three sons Douglas Hatcher of Uvalde, Texas; David Wood (Jill) of Parkers Chapel, and Jason Wood (Amy) of Smackover, and a brother Darrell Patterson (Tawana) of Camden, Arkansas. Also surviving are grandchildren, Allie Ford (Alex) of Parkers Chapel, Andrew Wood of Parkers Chapel, Tyler Hatcher of Norphlet, Cameron Wood of Parkers Chapel, Tristin Wood of El Dorado, Macy Wood of Parkers Chapel, Trace Lout of Parkers Chapel, and Pete Hatcher of Norphlet; along with great-grandchildren, Izzy Ford and Kenzlie Ford, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, neighbors, and business associates.
