Mike was born on July 26, 1954 in El Dorado, AR; the son of Clifton L. Parnell Jr. and Velma Smith Parnell. He was a lifelong member of Westside Baptist Church. Mike was the co-owner of Parnell Service Center on Northwest Ave. He retired after 20 years with Systems Group as a mechanic. Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing in his youth. He loved anytime spent with grandchildren and family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne Parnell, a daughter Jennifer Parnell and his wife of 36 years Cathy Lyn Parnell.
Survivors are a daughter Wesla Watson (Jim) of Smackover; brother Cliff Parnell (Edie) of Austin,TX; sisters Kim Thurmon of El Dorado and Cindy Kitchens of Bryant. Along with grandchildren Andrew Wood (Lauren), Clay Parnell, Camryn Wood (Kristin), Tessa Huneycutt (Logan), Ashlyn Babazic (Brandon), Macie Wood, Jenna Yates, Tatum Watson and great grandchild Wrenlee Jo Wood.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Youngs Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Friday May 6, 2022 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. David Voss officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
