
Mildred “Millie” King, 85 of El Dorado, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011, at Courtyard Health and Rehabilitation. She was born October 29, 1925 to Samuel Walter Mason Spooner and Sarah Elizabeth Johnson Spooner in Junction City, AR.
Millie was retired from Wal-Mart, where she worked as a greeter and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Alvin Fulton King, Jr.; six brothers, J.D., Woodrow, Albert, Clyde, Talmage, and Joe Spooner; and four sisters, Elsie LaGrone, Eula Mae Miles, Diamond Laney, and Elizabeth Morris.
Survivors include three sons, Sam King and wife Karen of Galt, CA, Alvin Fulton King, II and wife Shirley of Crossett, AR, Terry King and wife Jamie of Simi Valley, CA; sister, Frances Goodson of El Dorado; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
