Waunita was born on July 20, 1942 in Ravenna, NE; the daughter of Emil and Beulah Vroman Kunes. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Joy Community Bible Study Fellowship. She enjoyed walking, journaling, Amazon deliveries, cats, car races and traveling.
Waunita was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Emily Nelson, Sonia Kunes and Grace Harding and grandson Eric Millican.
Survivors are her husband of A.W. 'Buddy' McGaugh; daughters Shannon Kelley (Jeff) and Nena McGaugh -Jones (Michelle); Sherri Lemonds of Lafayette, LA; Robyn Osenga (Mark) of Atlanta, GA; a son Dale Sheeks Jr. (Kathy) of Grand Island, NE; a sister Mila Gappa De Kok (Bob) of Grand Island, NE; Grandchildren Shane, Scott, and Tiffany, many great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat, Lightening.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm at Young's Funeral Directors. Services will be held Tuesday 10:00 am at Young's Funeral Directors Chapel with Father Robert Wetherington officiating. Burial to follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Cody Strickland, Tanner Black, Kaitlyn Kelley, Donald Ray McGaugh, Matthew Kelley and Rusty Carelock.
