Agnes was born in El Paso on December 23, 1920 to Patrick Connolly and Julia McCarthy Connolly. She attended St. Joseph Grade School, Loretta Academy, and Texas College of Mines. She married Lt. Robert Pierce Wayne in 1947 and began her life as a military wife; always ready at a moment’s notice to gather up her children and the family belongings to make a move to her husband’s new assignment. Robert’s career, her children, and her many friends and family members meant everything to her, and all who were blessed to be counted as a friend or family to “Aggie”, knew she would always be there to help in time of need.
We will miss your beautiful heart, your smile, your open arms and big hugs, the way your face would light up when a friend or loved one dropped by, your unwavering faith, your love of all that is Irish and the anchor you were to many lives. You were always a good sport mom and never took yourself too seriously.
Agnes is preceded in death by her brother Patrick Connolly, and her two sisters, Mary Frances Bromley and Julia Connolly Condon.
She is survived by her daughters Frances Lynn Wayne of El Paso and Janet Wayne Walker (Robin) of Austin, Texas, as well as her sons Michael Anthony Wayne (Karen) of La Habra, California and Robert Pierce Wayne Jr. (Leslie) of Pullman, Washington. Her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews will also miss her dearly.

Robert Pierce Wayne of El Paso passed away peacefully in his home and went on to join his wife, Agnes, and Our Heavenly Father.
Robert was born on February 6, 1921 to Joseph and Amelia Wayne in Lebanon, Kentucky, where he spent much of his youth roaming the hills trapping and hunting to help his family survive the Great Depression. He often went to school with nothing more than a slice of cornbread in his pocket for his daily sustenance. As a young man, he entered the First Kentucky Horse Cavalry as a private, eventually making the Army his career and retiring a Lieutenant Colonel. His thirty years in the service included serving as an officer with an anti-aircraft battery during World War II, where he was severely wounded. After the war, he taught guided missile technology at Fort Bliss, served with the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and served adjacent to the Red Phone at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In 1966 he retired and moved to El Paso, the home of his beloved wife, Agnes.
During his retirement years in El Paso, he became a founding member of the El Paso Bicycle Club and logged thousands of miles on his bicycle. He was a man of many talents and high intellect, but enjoyed the simplest of things in life. He spent many hours in his backyard, gardening, feeding his flock of white wing doves, and tending his pecan trees. He was a good father, a loyal husband, and deeply loved his children. We will miss your boyhood stories, your attempts to make a good biscuit, our trips with you into the outdoors, and your devotion to your country. No son or daughter has been more proud or loved their father more.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife Agnes, his brothers Joe Wayne and Paul Wayne, and his sister Anna Mary Wayne.
He is survived by his daughters Frances Wayne and Janet Walker (Robin), his sons Michael Wayne (Karen) and Robert Wayne Jr. (Leslie) and his sister Susan Wayne. His grandchildren, nieces, and nephews will also miss him dearly.
