My deepest condolences to Andrews family, his mother and sister, and his son. Andrew was a great man, funny and always put a smile on your face. A tremendous wrestler in high school, and helped many that dealt with depression as he dealt with his as well. I remember seeing him through his darkest times and finally seeing him finding the light again and become a better man for his family and friends. Andrew deserves nothing but peace. He will be missed by all.

It's a shock knowing that one of the few people I considered friends who were nice to me in HS passed. I remembered how kind he was. Actually gave me the time of day to talk. A very kind soul that I wish could've spent more time with. My love and prayers go out to his family Matthew 5:4. May he rejoice in the presence of the father. Luke 20:38.

Hay personas que llegan a tu vida y la transforman con su sola presencia. Andrew, tú fuiste una de esas almas raras e invaluables. No solo me abriste las puertas de tu casa, sino que tu corazón siempre estuvo abierto para mí. En ti encontré un lugar seguro, un hermano, un amigo. Siempre me sentí vista, escuchada y profundamente valorada por ti.

Guardo tantos recuerdos que llevo como tesoros en el alma. Aún me río al pensar en ese pobre buzón que ya se estaba cayendo, y tú viniste a rematarlo… dos veces. Y aun así, con ese corazón tuyo tan grande, regresaste a arreglarlo, como si fuera lo más importante del mundo.

Cómo olvidar cuando me llevaste a mi primer y único rave en el SCMF, o cuando viajabas por horas solo para quedarte en un hotel, con tal de vernos a mi hijo y a mí. Era muy claro para nosotros que habías llegado a este mundo a traer luz y ser un padre. Ese tipo de amor y entrega no se encuentra todos los días.

Y claro, nunca voy a olvidar ese día que estabas haciendo drift y terminamos chocando contra unos postes de madera. El carro quedó inmóvil, pero nuestras risas no. Esos momentos, nuestras luchas en la escuela, tus visitas sorpresa… todo eso lo llevo conmigo, muy dentro.

Siempre te llevé en mi corazón, Andrew. Y ahí seguirás, por siempre. Te amo con todo mi corazón, con toda mi alma y con todo mi ser. Tu ausencia duele, pero tu esencia vive fuerte en mí.

Mis más sinceras condolencias a todos los que te aman. El mundo perdió una luz única, pero nosotros ganamos el privilegio eterno de haberte conocido.

Thank you for always being my friend. I know we had our disagreements but we always came back. Thank you for always listening and never judging and being a safe space for not just me but everyone you met. The way you lit up a room with your smile and became friends with everyone so easy was something I admired. You weren’t afraid of being yourself and I’m so happy that you got to experience the joy of having your son. You had wished for him for as long as I’ve known you and the way you cherished and loved him was the sweetest. I’m gonna hold onto that CD you made forever. 🤍 🕊️

Andrew was a kind person who had an amazing smile and personality I am very grateful to have been able to meet him and get to know him a little in Highschool he was my brother's friend but he always treated everyone like a friend

Andrew P. Magaña, a brother no one deserved, but needed. To confront, to humble, to care and all that we never noticed. A inspiration to our generation leaving a legacy of undoubte-able love that we cannot understand. Something he wouldn't want us to go through, Andrew knew how to detour our perspective. A father, to a beautiful baby boy that he cherished infinitely. His spirit lives in him, through us, and so much more that was created through a smile of kindness. A man who knew, but didn't. A man who created, and delivered. A man who overcame any obstacle that was in his way. From having pain in his back and still becoming a air man. Wrestling through all the negative, and coming out on top. Andrew P Magaña was imperfect, for the right reasons. He left in time, and in memory. A soul that'll be carried threw our lives only that we remember him by. He got angry, he got emotional, but who doesn't... he felt, what he knew, that none of us could say that we feel. Brotha could throw hands, people, words, full ass trash bins at his own car.. for a "short man" that's pretty got dang impressive (iykyk). Miss Mary (mom) I hope you know your house was thee kick back spot. where I know we all could be ourselves, that i know my big brotha gets all his beauty,  kindness, humbleness, loving, character from is you and so much more. Im sorry for putting you through all the late nightz and shenanigans from having to hear our loud mouths tell each other "no balls!" For the worried late night parties, the getting home late, the missed calls because we weren't sure if we was in trouble.. Andrew is, and will forever be Andrew, no matter what, and all that knew, knows that Andrew was him. I will never be sorry that I knew him, that he is my best friend, and that he is my family a brotha from another mother. Nothing but love for big bro. Only wish I could have is to be able to make more memories with him from all our planned unplanned plans.

The first time I met Andrew was back in high school on the Hanks High School wrestling.. Andrew introduced me to metal music. I still remember him lending me his CDs and band shirts. And when it came to band shirts—man, he had a collection so massive, it looked like he could’ve opened his own store. 

We spent countless nights at his house—lighting up, hanging around bonfires in the backyard, or just chilling in his room playing video games. Dragon Ball Z was one of his all-time favorite shows. I can still picture the crew: me, Matthew, Jojo, Tony, and Andrew—always together, always looking out for one another.

We shared so many conversations, moments of laughter, and the kind of harmless mischief you'd expect from a group of high school kids. What we had was a bond—one so real and deep that it could never be replicated.

Andrew was a kind soul—always ready to lend a hand, never hesitating to help his closest friends or even strangers. If I ever needed it, he would’ve given me the shirt off his back without a second thought.

There were countless times when he offered his support during the darkest moments of my life. His compassion, his loyalty—those acts of kindness will always stay with me. Nothing could ever compare to the way he showed up when it mattered most.

There are so many memories I could share, and I could go on forever. I'm truly sorry I wasn't there for you, buddy in your darkest times.

“Donec iterum conveniant” — until we meet again.

Andrew was a great man. I knew him during my high school years and remembered his smile the most. His smile could light up a room. He was always a positive individual and I looked up to that positive mindset. I will miss you brother.

Not many pictures I have of all of but all the memories I have will carry with me for eternity. Class of 2016.

Photo at our wrestling UIL awards. Funny wrestling story, Andrew hated clipping his finger nails in high school. So every time we would wrestle in practice, I would have scratches all over my arms like I was wresting a feral cat! Also, Andrew always wanted to smile without smiling!

There are no words that can ease the pain of losing someone so young and full of promise. Our heart breaks for you Mary and your family. Through everything I went through you never looked at me different never judged me for my actions and never talked bad about me. You were my only real friend and it hurts deeply to lose you  I still can’t wrap my head around the fact we won’t share anymore laughs or play zombies and listen to Kevin Gates or smoke and talk about life and bettering ourselves. I still remember the day we figured out we had the same birthday we were already best friends for a few months then we figured that out and was really locked in lol. You showed me there’s more to life than just a cage you showed me how to live life with excitement and adventure got me interested in exploring the world and not stay stagnant in my same environment. I’m glad and appreciative I had the honor to experience you as my brother in my lifetime and I will never forget you and those MANY memories we have together and those conversations where you told me you believed in me to do better. I texted you last Monday to check on you and let you know I was doing better and was finally on the right path but never got a text back. But I know I’m one of the ones you’re watching over for sure so you see it already. I promise you Imma live the rest of my life to make you proud in my decisions and actions‼️ Love you brother and thank you for EVERYTHING you have done for me and my family‼️🫡💪

Andrew was my very first friend in BMT. Our beds were assigned next to each other (at first) but through our humor we had to be separated haha. Post BMT, I would go and visit El Paso to go see him and his family. They were always so welcoming and made me feel like I was at home. Many laughs and memories were made between Andrew and I. I only wish I maintained contact through the years. I will surely miss him

My deepest condolences to his mother, Mary. I can’t begin to imagine the unbearable pain you are feeling. There are no words that can truly comfort a mother’s heart in a time like this. To his sister and lifelong protector, Brenée—my heart is with you. I understand that pain, and I grieve with you. May God hold you both in His hands and give you strength, comfort, and peace.

He loved you deeply, but his beautiful son will carry the heaviest burden. That loss will be felt most by him, and I pray he finds healing surrounded by love and support.

He was a Magana, and the entire Magana and Herrera families now mourn his passing. We all feel this loss deeply. May you all find some solace in the love, prayers, and unity of those who stand with you

Andrew and I first met in middle school, he was a year older than i and right out the gate I knew this guy was someone I wanted to associate myself with. The funniest, sweetest dude I knew. The next year I joined wrestling in 8th grade, Andrew was in 9th grade and would come down to help out the middle schoolers, taught me my first takedown, taught me how to be mentally tough and was in my corner for the first part of my wrestling career. My sophomore year Andrew and I became close friends, inviting me to his house along with a few other wrestlers and just doing goofy stuff in the back yard or his bedroom. He accepted me, an under-classman as a part of the group, that meant so much to me. He and I disconnected after high school but within the last few years we reconnected and I loved talking to him, was always very supportive while I wrestled in college and would go back and fourth about his sports, life and everything in between. Andrew was such a great guy, made a big impact on my teenage years. Knowing he’s gone broke me because I’ll never find that kind of encouragement and friendship that he gave me. A beautiful soul. I love and miss you my brother. Sending my condolences and prayers to his family.
