SFC (US Army Retired) Anthony Verdon, 82, of El Paso, Texas was called by the Lord in the morning of August 15, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, his two sisters Jean and Joan, brother Edward Jr., and sons Anthony and Christian.
Anthony was born July 27, 1942 in Hempstead, New York to Carmella Lisa and Edward Verdon. He began his service to his country at the young age of 17 as an enlistee, taking him as far as Germany, Korea and VietNam. He retired after 22 years of honorable service, but continued working for the government under NAF/MWR, then for TAFT Window Company, and finally opening his own business, T&L Gifts in El Paso's Discount Mall.
Anthony is survived by his wife Leticia Verdon, daughters Susanne Neal and Michelle Huba, sons Fermin Ramirez, Gabriel Ramirez and Christian Anthony Verdon, sister Patricia Carolan, as well as 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with Rosary at 7:00pm, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer Street. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Christ the Savior Catholic Church, 5301 Wadsworth followed by Graveside with Military Honors at 1:30pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., El Paso, Texas.
