Antonia Jimenez, who loved to be called “Mama Toña” by her grandkids and great grandkids, went to be with our Lord Sunday February 28th. We would like to thank the Lord for providing us with such a great mother who benevolently provided her immense love and support without asking for anything in return.
Her life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Mama Toña made friends everywhere she went and her conocidos at her “office”, the downtown McDonalds, loved her for it. She was quick to give a lending hand to anyone in need. Her happiness dwelled on seeing those around her happy. One of her life-goals was to instill love and togetherness among those closest to her.
Everyone always knew where you stood with Mama Toña. She was blunt and firm with her words and her actions. Her words of encouragement, wisdom, and comfort, kept us in line, taught us the “school of hard knocks” and gave us something to pass down to our children. She would always promote personal progress and becoming better people to all whom she loved. Often saying ”You will always get to wherever You want to go!” Her lessons of overcoming pain both physical and emotional will forever be remembered. Mama Toña’s firm, but loving voice will forever echo in the lives of those who she affectionately reprimanded. One knew they were important to her if she was giving her at-times-too-harsh advice.
All whom loved her dearly will never forget her wit, charm, grace, and eternal love and caring for them and will always be remembered as “La Jefa de Jefas”.
She is survived by her beloved husband Vicente Jimenez and her siblings Mario Meza, Jeronimo Meza, Merced Oleida Meza, Alejandra Perez and Francisco Meza.
