Family and Friends,
As many of you know, our dad, Arturo Mendoza — Tury, or Tuty as most of you called him — passed away Thursday night 6/26/25 leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
Tury was a man who loved life. He was all about the music, the dancing, and gathering with family and friends. Whether he was watching a football game or a basketball game with his squares all lined up, at Las Vegas for a round of keno, or betting on the horses at the track, he was always there with a smile and a laugh that was truly his own. His laugh — oh, how contagious it was! It didn’t just make you smile, it made you laugh every time.
He loved his mornings, with breakfast done just right — eggs over medium “bolita broken” sausage “links only,” toast with jelly and real hash browns. The eggs not touching the hash browns the way only he could describe. And of course, every waitress was “hermosa.” He was a man of routine, yes, but a routine full of warmth, humor, and a whole lot of love.
But more than anything, Tury was everyone’s bro. That’s what he called everyone, whether you’d known him for years or minutes. He was the kind of person who could make a friend anywhere — and I mean anywhere. If you’ve met him, you knew him. Everyone knew him. And when people shared stories about him, they talked about his ability to make everyone feel like family.
As his daughters, we feel so incredibly lucky. From day one, he was there for us— not because he had to, but because he wanted to. His love had endless support and he was always proud of who we became, helping us grow into who we are today. That kind of love is a gift, and it’s one we carry with us always.
We know time is precious, and as hard as it is to say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing how much our dad meant to us— and to all of you. And that’s why we want to celebrate him in the best way possible: by coming together and sharing our stories, our memories, and the laughter that he brought into our lives.
Please join us for his funeral to honor the man who touched so many lives. It would mean the world to us to have you there, not just to mourn, but to celebrate everything he was: A loyal brother, a devoted friend, an amazing dad, and living life his way. Bring your favorite stories, your photos, your laughter. Let's remember our dad the way he lived — with love, joy, and plenty of good times.
With all our love,
Angie and Mindy
