Arturo Blas “Bachi” Sanchez passed away on April 15, 2015 He is survived by his wife, Grace Sanchez, and two children, Arturo Fabian Sanchez and Viviana Carolina Sanchez, and His sisters, Lupe Salcido and Mary Franco, as well as nephews and nieces. He was known as Bachi to his family and friends. Mr. Sanchez was a native of Socorro, Texas, Son of Virginia and Ramon Sanchez. He was a graduate of Ysleta High Class of 1967. He attended College at Sul Ross Roswell New Mexico in 1968 and received his Master’s Degree from UTEP in 1977
Mr. Sanchez was a decorated officer with Customs and Border Protection serving for 27 years. He also served with the Bureau of Prisons for five years beginning in Bastrop, Texas in June 1983 later in Lompoc, California January 1985 and finishing his career with the BOP at La Tuna in Anthony New Mexico in January 1987. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza with Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday April 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
