Barbara Joyce (Perkins) Bates, 66 was called by her Lord, December 12, 2010. She was a teacher, specializing in elementary ESL. She was first and foremost a Christian, homemaker, mother, wife and grandmother. She was

preceded in death by her father, William Mervin Perkins Sr; her mother, Marjory Jacqueline (Allen) Perkins Blocker; sister, Lydia Blocker; and her second parents, Harold Dupree Allen and Barbara Ann (Dempsey) Allen. She is survived by her husband; William Grover Bates, Children;

Raymond John Bates (Virginia), Bryan William Bates (Georgia), Brenna Christine (Bates) Schjenken [Kenneth] (Missouri), Cristian Daniel Vicente-Bates (El Paso); Brother, William Mervin Perkins Jr (Connecticut); five sisters; and 6 grandchildren. By her own request, Barbara will be cremated with a Memorial Service placing her into God's eternal care on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church (Ford Chapel) of El Paso, 805 Montana Ave. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Honor of Barbara Perkins Bates to Dame La Mano, 1014 S.
