Beatrice E. Herrera

Beatrice E. Herrera (Betty) born in Los Angeles, CA on February 28th, 1932, age 93 was called home by our Heavenly Father on Thursday March 13th, 2025. Betty moved to El Paso, TX in 1958 where she settled and lived through five generations of her family. Betty is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe and Velia Espinoza, siblings Richard Espinoza and Belia Lugo, son Victor Herrera and her daughter in law Graciela Herrera, grandchildren Gabriel and Cynthia Herrera. She is survived by her daughters Terry and her husband Eddie Marmolejo, Christina and her husband Ismael Torres Jr, Norma B. Herrera, her sons Michael and his wife Guadalupe Herrera, David and his wife Laura Herrera and her sister Joann Leon of AZ and lastly 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. Betty worked at Thrifty Laundromat, J & J Register and at the Embassy Suites by Hilton here in El Paso. She had a passion for crocheting, she enjoyed making tablecloths, bedspreads, doilys and quilts for her family. She was also a great seamstress she made her children their clothes when they were young. Later in life she made many blankets and lots of Raggedy Ann dolls and worked on many other projects. She enjoyed making puzzles always keeping busy, her latest past time was Math, she would spend hours with her workbooks, she often would say that it was her favorite subject in school. She was a great cook, and she enjoyed baking, especially her famous biscuits, which everyone craved. She had a special place in her heart for Basset Hounds, two previous were Columbo and Papasito and her beloved Sky whom she left in our care.

Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, through her kindness, encouragement and her call for patience. She leaves us with many funny memories and stories that we will continue to share. Even people who didn’t know personally loved hearing about her adventures. Always a lady and truly one of a kind. She will be greatly missed by us all. Don’t worry Betty we did not forget your lipstick!
