

Born in El Paso, TX, she was the daughter of Adolfo and Rosaura Martinez. Carol was a proud graduate of El Paso High School. She was employed with Ysleta Independent School District.
She was an active parishioner at several Catholic churches, with the last 30 years being a faithful member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. She had a strong devotion to the Divine Mercy, and she and her husband recited the prayer everyday at 3 p.m. Carol and Luis traveled widely throughout Europe and South America, often visiting holy places where the Virgin Mary appeared.
She is survived by her spouse, Luis, nine children, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and her beloved niece Lynn Arellano, who in many ways was more like a sister. Lynn walked with her every step of the way during her fight against cancer.
The visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home at 1060 North Carolina Drive on Sunday, May 3, from 4- 8 p.m., with rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 4, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church, followed by graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
